Against the background of a darkening sky, all of the past Presidents of the United States gather before the White House, as if to commemorate some great event. In the left hand corner of the painting sits a man. That man, with his head bowed appears distraught and hopeless as he contemplates his future. Some of the past Presidents try to console him while looking in the direction of the modern Presidents as if to say, “What have you done?” Many of these modern Presidents, seemingly oblivious to anything other than themselves, appear to be congratulating each other on their great accomplishments. How’s that big government idea working out for the American people?

Let’s look at the recovery the country enjoyed under Reagan and compare it to the one we’re currently experiencing under Obama.

Since the current recession officially ended in June of 09 according to the experts, we’ve now had 15 months of the Obama recovery. How does it compare to the first 15 months of the Reagan recovery?

These figures come from government records and not any biased third party report:

Consumer confidence: Reagan 03.9 Obama 53.5
Average GDP growth: Reagan 7.7% Obama 3%
Unemployment rate: Reagan 8% Obama 9.7%

The evidence indicates that the Reagan recovery was much stronger than the one we
are experiencing now.

The difference?

President Reagan believed that government was the problem.

President Obama believes that government is the answer.

President Barack Obama has taken the United States one more giant step towards socialism by ramming through the Senate his financial regulation bill.

The bill authorizes the secretary of the Treasury — a political appointee — to seize any financial company (bank or nonbank) simply because, in his opinion, it is too big to fail and in danger of insolvency.
