Why a Constitutional Convention to Nullify Healthcare is a BAD Idea

Lt. Gov. Andre Bauer (who is also running for Governor) is now calling for a Constitutional Convention (“ConCon”) for the purpose of nullifying Obamacare. However, this move demonstrates his ignorance of the US Constitution and you would do well to become educated on the issue, because what he is proposing is quite dangerous. [Read more →]

Dates that Destroyed America

The Anderson Tea Party does not necessarily endorse the views contained in this article. It is posted only as a history lesson and as food for thought. Please draw your own conclusions.

Passage of the so-called “health care reform” bill in the House of Representatives this past Sunday, March 21 (I won’t even address the inferred unconstitutionality of Congress doing business on the Lord’s Day. See Article. I. Section. 7. Paragraph. 2.) drove yet another stake into the heart of America. For all intents and purposes, it is the health of the United States that is in dire need of healing. In fact, the US has been on extended life-support for decades. With its condition being rendered critical, and absent major surgery, its days are numbered. The passage of this bill only serves to further weaken an already frail Constitution. In fact, this one may prove to be the fatal blow. Lady Liberty may never recover.

The decision by Congress to socialize medicine in the US ranks among the most draconian, most egregious, most horrific actions ever taken by the central government in Washington, D.C. This bill rocks the principles of liberty and constitutional government to the core. It changes fundamental foundations; it repudiates historical principle. Oh! The same flag may fly on our flagpoles, the same monuments may grace our landscape, and the same National Anthem may be sung during our public ceremonies, but it is not the same America. The Congress of the United States has now officially turned America into a socialist state.

On March 23, 2010, President Barack Obama signed the health care bill into law, and as such, this date–along with March 21–joins a list of dates that have each inflicted unconstitutional, socialistic, and sometimes even tyrannical action against the States United and have, therefore, contributed to the destruction of a free America. Citizens to rally at Healthcare Nullification Amendment Hearing

March 24, 2010 – Citizens from all parts of the state will be attending a Healthcare Nullification Rally on March 25, 2010, 9:00am at the State Capitol.

The rally’s central focus is a bill brought by Rep. Jeff Duncan proposing a Constitutional Amendment that would prevent the enactment of the Healthcare Reform bill recently passed by Congress.

Rally attendees will be testifying at the bill’s first subcommittee hearing at 9:00, and will also be demonstrating outside the Blatt Building (1105 Pendleton St, Columbia), where the hearing will take place.

“Here in South Carolina we believe that the U.S. Constitution is still the supreme law of the land,” said Jonathon Hill and Randy Simpson, two of the rally organizers and leaders of the Anderson and Seneca Tea Parties. “We’re determined not to allow our Ninth and Tenth Amendment rights to be trampled by the government.” [Read more →]

A Note From Jim DeMint

I want to personally thank you for signing the “Repeal ObamaCare Pledge” at repealitpledge.com and give you a quick update.

First, the bad news.

At 11:56 a.m. this morning, President Obama signed the health care legislation into law, turning one-sixth of our economy over to the federal government.

Congressional Democrats cheered as they watched the President sign this full-blown attack on our freedoms.

It was a painful sight to see.

Now, the good news.

Minutes after the health care takeover was signed into law, I introduced a one-page bill to repeal it. [Read more →]

SC Republicans Want “Obamacare” On Statewide Ballot

By FITSNews

Sensing an electoral gold mine, South Carolina Republicans are looking for ways to put “Obamacare” on the statewide ballot in November.

In fact, legislative sources tell FITS that a ballot question could eventually emerge from a trio of bills already moving through the S.C. General Assembly – specifically three separate pieces of legislation sponsored by Reps. Jeff Duncan and Tim Scott and State Sen. Mick Mulvaney.

“I suspect one of those – likely (Duncan’s) – will be amended to serve as the vehicle,” the source said. [Read more →]
