Just how much change do we need?

From Randy Simpson, Seneca TEA Party Organizer

The symbolism in the illustrations below is thought provoking, and I believe it to be accurate.  Please read all the way to the bottom of the email.  Consider the quotations at the end.  I ask you this…if this is the greatest country in the history of the world, why do some want a complete makeover? Duh!

A few things I have learned as a businessman:

1.      Nothing is a universe unto itself.  Everything that exists is part of a very complex whole.
2.      If it ain’t broke…don’t fix it.
3.      If it ain’t broke, but badly bent, use extreme caution.  Things often break as a consequence of attempts to     straighten  them.
4.      Straightening something that is bent or out of shape does not necessarily improve its function or performance.
5.    If it is broken…be very cautious with the fixes.  There are always unknowns and interactions that cause unintended consequences that may be worse than the original problem.
6.      You cannot fix a problem until the problem has been accurately defined and the causes identified.
7.      A problem will go away, only when the cause(s) has been corrected.
8.      Fixes done in great haste are almost certain to fail.
9.      Unless someone takes responsibility and accountability for the results, failure is sure.
10.  If blame for failure can be placed elsewhere, it will be.

Consider this saying, “The cause of all his problems rests firmly on the shoulders of someone else.”

Does this sound familiar?

Yes, we need changes…but, just how much change do we “really” need.
