SC General Assembly Budget Priorities
My response to Rep. Jeff Duncan’s question via Facebook, “Budget week is coming up in the South Carolina General Assembly. What do you think South Carolina’s spending priorities should be?”
Follow Chris Christie’s example. Cut out the nice-to-haves and remember what Bastiat said about “legal plunder”.
Education does not need more funding, it actually needs less–and more common sense.
We need to start funding the State Guard (we have a right to a “well-regulated militia”).
We need electronics in the Senate to facilitate roll-call voting transparency.
We need to address our electronic voting systems which have no paper backup. The SC Constitution says votes must be counted in public, but it is impossible to count electronic votes in public.
