As Glen Beck said recently: "The Democrats are progressive left, the Republicans are progressive lite". I heard a report on CNN recently where they called the "tea party" a "branch of the republican party". Please say it isn't so! The error of many Americans is in thinking that we can "reform " the republican party. Dr. Gibbs won a special election for the 22nd Congressional District and served as a US Representative for a short period of time before losing in a run off to Pete Olson. Dr. Gibbs was requested to share her experience while in Congress and to offer suggestions to any that may wish to run for office. She shared conversations she had with senior members of Congress and spoke of procedures that she must adhere to. While what she shared with us is what most of us already suspect, but have never heard it from the proverbial ?horses mouth,? was quite eye-opening. Dr. Gibbs was refreshingly forthcoming as she was told on day one by a senior member of Congress, ?you?re a junior member and if you want to further your career, just do what your told and don?t make waves? ? we?ll tell you how to vote ? just play the game and you?ll do fine?. BINGO! This is exactly why the ?good? Representatives that currently serve in the House are ineffective. The House ?Republicans? has two controlling groups ? the moderates that wet their finger and stick it in the air to see which way the wind is blowing. The other group is the RINO?s ? Republican in Name Only ? closet liberals. The upcoming election may turn over 50 seats in the House, but the moderates and RINO?s will still have control over the ?good? ones. The good ones make up such a small percentage of the 435 members that nothing will ever change until all 435 seats are replaced with Citizen Representatives selected through the GOOOH process. The most disturbing piece of information offered by Dr. Gibbs was the 1.4 million dollar annual budget that each Representative has ? are your ready? - To staff their DC office and to staff an office in their congressional district! 1.4 Million Per Year! Makes you wonder how much of that is funneled elsewhere ? ya think? Dr Gibbs stated to a senior Representative, ?I don?t need that much money to staff my office? and she was severely chastised and was told to request MORE money before even considering cutting the staffing budget. In other words ? Just Play the Game. To hear this from some one that actually served exemplifies the corrupt mind set of the sitting Representatives and they all must be removed. Our founding fathers intended the House to be comprised of Americans that come from the private sector to serve a short period of time and return to their chosen profession. The GOOOH process allows for this to happen. As for the ?good ones?, the ?but I like my Representative?, I suggest they join GOOOH, answer the 100 or so questions, sign the contract promising to vote as they indicated on the questionnaire and promise to serve for no more than two terms ? four years and see if the Constituents in that district select him or her to represent them. After serving their terms, if you wish, help them get elected to the Senate. As for Ted Poe (US Representative Texas Congressional District 02), personally, I want him one day to become Governor of Texas ? but I digress- sorry. The way to find the stain is to expose it to light. Then, start scrubbing. KEEP ON until the stain is gone or it no longer matters! Like many, I am disppointed that more did not happen, but TEA Partiers, we are making a difference. Keep exposing and keep scrubbing...we will get there.
