2010 Census

Call 1-866-861-2010 toll free or call the Anderson Census Office at (864) 932-4320 to schedule a 30 minute test at a local test site.

  • Good Pay (The pay rate for field jobs in our area starts at $11.25 per hour)
  • Temporary, part-time jobs
  • Flexible hours, up to 40 hours a week
  • Mileage reimbursement for field jobs (55 cents per mile)

The 2010 Census is extremely important to South Carolina.  It is very important that every person is counted for the following reasons:

  • Apportion the seats in the House of Representatives
  • Draw state legislative districts
  • Distribute more than $300 billion annually in federal, state, and local funds
  • Business owners use the census count to determine sites for new businesses

There will be many census jobs available in our area. Work schedules vary and many census takers have other full time or part time jobs.  Retirees, military retirees, and students (over 18) are encouraged to apply.
